Obituary- Published in Keith Ovington Funeral Home, Burford ON-- Alfred Franklin Davis Passed away on: Sunday, January 31, 2010 ---On January 31, 2010, in his 99th year, Alfred Franklin Davis began a peaceful rest, joining in heaven his spouse of 68 years, Grace Campbell Davis (1915-2006). Remembered as a loving father by his daughters Norma (Bob) Kuehn and Lois (Roger) Wolfe, a beloved Grandpa by Shari (Dennis) O'Keeffe and Dianna Wolfe (Rob Willson), and a loved great-grandfather by Sean and Krista O'Keeffe, he was predeceased by his parents Francis Wilfred Davis (1881-1958) and Alice Sophia Franklin (1883-1957), and siblings Grace Arthur (1907-1997), Mary Davies (1908-2005), Cecil (1916-2009), and Lloyd (1919-1988). Uncle Alf will be sadly missed by niece Janice (John) Fink, nephew Larry (Sally) Davis, and many other nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and -nephews. Sister-in-law Edna Campbell of Brantford has many fond memories of their times together with family. Alfred was born and raised on Tutela Heights Road, Brantford Township, and moved to the Burford area where he and Grace raised their family and farmed for almost 40 years. A long-time member of Fairfield United Church, Alfred also served as a Burford Township council member and Reeve . More recently, Alfred resided at Telfer Place and Park Lane Terrace in Paris, ON. Many thanks go out to the staff at Park Lane Terrace for their exceptional support and care. Friends will be received at the KEITH OVINGTON FUNERAL HOME 134 King Street, Burford on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Alfred's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
