Frederick Andrew Frederickson was born on March 24, 1928, to the late Fred O. and Anna (Jellesed) Frederickson. Fred attended school in Wilder, MN.

On June 18, 1947, Fred was united in marriage to Carol Bretzlaff at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom. This marriage was blessed with three daughters: Judith, Ellen, and Elizabeth. After marriage, they lived on their farm south of Windom in Delafield Township, Jackson County, until 1982, when they moved to Windom. On December 22, 2023, Fred entered Windom Area Hospital. On December 28th, he was transferred to Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield, MN, and resided there until his passing on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the age of 95 years.

Throughout his life, Fred was a dedicated, hard-working farmer, owning farms in both Jackson and Cottonwood counties. Fred loved the outdoors, so when he was not farming the land, he found his enjoyment hunting deer, fox, rabbits, and pocket gophers. He was always trying to "fix things". He owned a cabin on Fish Lake and spent many hours fishing, skiing, swimming, and driving his boat for family and friends. During the winter, he would go snowmobiling and play ice hockey at the Windom Arena. In the summers, he would take his family to northern resort towns, boating and fishing. Fred owned airplanes and enjoyed flying them. He even made a runway for the plane on his farm. He had a 3-wheeler and a 4-wheeler, riding through the ditches and on his farm with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fred loved animals and over the years he had several dogs and cats on his farm. Each year he would plant large gardens filled with sweet corn, carrots, beets, tomatoes, potatoes, and cucumbers. One year he grew huge pumpkins. He and Carol would even go out dancing together in their later years. In most recent years, he cleaned out the grove and replaced those old trees with a variety of over 100 baby pine trees, which he planted, watered, and watched them grow. He was well known by many friends and relatives and was always willing to help them.

Fred attended Delafield Lutheran Church with his family, until transferring to The American Lutheran Church in Windom in later years. Fred is survived by three daughters, Judith H. Johnson of Windom, Ellen (Robert) Tilton of Champlin, and Elizabeth (Roger) Mortenson of Saint Croix Falls, WI; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Robert) Moreno, Conley Johnson, Milissa (Michael) Hoffman, Dr. Laura Tilton (Seth) Consoer, Samuel Mortenson, and Amanda (Patrick) Ryan; 14 great-grandchildren, David, Daniel, Simon & Rebekah Moreno, Jayden & Kyla Johnson, Miliana & Mitchell Hoffman, Addison & Amelia Consoer, Piper & Max Martenson, and Joey & Rylie Ryan; one sister-in-law, Helenn Raverty; and many nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Carol; his parents; parents-in-law, Frieda & Carl Bretzlaff; three sisters, Frieda (Jim) Griffith, Olga (John) Miller, and Corinne (Milton) Olson; and brother-in-law, Daniel Raverty.

Memorials are preferred to The American Lutheran Church of Windom.
