She was born on December 3, 1962 in Danville, IL, the daughter of the late Charles Arthur and Clara Lucille (Strater) Horath. Marilyn was raised in the Tab area and attended Benton Central High School. She has lived in rural Warren County near Judyville for the last several years.
Marilyn formerly worked at Autumn Trace in Attica from 2019-2023. She began as a cook, later as a activities director and then served as Executive Director. After leaving Autumn Trace, she became a bus driver for the Metropolitan School District until her health declined. She also had worked as a home healthcare provider.
Marilyn was an active member of the Judyville Church. She enjoyed fishing and watching her birds. She loved and cherished her family and adored her grandchildren.
Marilyn was first married to Terry Waling and later James "Moe" Moore.
Marilyn leaves behind four children; eight grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Stanley Horath; and three sisters - Evelyn Black, Norma Easter and Pat Richter.
Friends may call at Maus Funeral Home in Attica, IN on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Brenda McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery near Ambia, IN.
