Virginia Virginia Clayworth Obituary
(Darlene) Virginia Clayworth, age 94, of Centerville passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.

Virginia was born on January 25, 1929 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Ethel (Mullin) Kendall. She attended Udell schools. On August 10, 1946, she was united in marriage to Eddie L. Clayworth in Unionville, Missouri. To this union, four children were born, Joyce, Jesse, Janus and Jerry.

Virginia began working for Union Carbide in Centerville in 1964 when the plant opened, and continued until to January 1, 1981 when she retired. She was a very artistic person. In her free time, she loved quilting, sewing and woodworking-including furniture for her family members.

Left to cherish Virginia's memory are her children, Joyce (Richard) Spurgeon, Jesse (Debbie) Clayworth, Janus (Tom) Craig and Jerry (Lora) Clayworth; her brother, Carl Kendall; eleven grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; as well as extended family members.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Clayworth on March 7, 2012; her parents, Carl and Ethel Kendall; her sister, Joan Henninger; her brothers, Harry Kendall and Billy Kendall; and an infant sister.

Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Tony Angran officiating. Burial will follow the service at Dale Cemetery, north of Centerville. Visitation will take place Friday, January 26, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 5:00PM-7:00PM.
