Douglas R. Jardine, 64, of Buckshollow Rd., Mahopac, died suddenly Feb. 16 at his home.

He was born Sept. 1, 1917, in New York City, and had lived in the Mahopac area 15 years. He formerly was a cook at Lincoln Hall School in Lincolndale.

Mr. Jardine served in the Army during World War 2 and won 3 Purple Hearts. He was a member of the Mahopac American Legion and the Mahopac Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Mahopac.

He is survived by 5 daughters, Miss Kathleen Jardine of Mahopac, Ms. Anne L. Jardine and Miss Linda Margaret Jardine, both of British Columbia; Mrs. Patricia Marie Hauck of Clintondale, N.Y., and Frances Jardine of Port Angles, Wash.; a brother, Patrick Jardine of New York City, and 2 grandchildren.

A mass of christian burial was celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Peekskill. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Cargain Barber Funeral Home, Rte. 6, Mahopac.
