Helen L. Burkhammer
July 27, 1927 - January 19, 2024

Helen L. Burkhammer, 96, gained her Heavenly Home on Friday, January 19, 2024. Helen was warmly embraced upon her arrival by her loving husband, Eugene F. Burkhammer. They were wed on August 31, 1945, and enjoyed many wonderful years together until he went on before her on May 2, 2002. Their reunion in Heaven was something she had very much been looking forward to.

Helen blessed this world and the lives of her parents when she was born in Gilmer County on July 27, 1927.

In addition to her husband, Helen's parents, Roy C. and Alma Peters Collins and her brother, Harley B. Collins celebrated Helen's arrival.

Mourning Helen's passing but rejoicing with her in her victory is one daughter, Donna J. Stump and husband, Bob, of Buckhannon; three grandchildren: Scott M. Corbitt of Florida, Michelle D. Loudin and husband, Doug, of Buckhannon, and Kelly Corbitt of Virginia Beach, VA; eight fiercely loved great-grandchildren: Dustin Cobitt, Brianna Corbitt, Caleb Corbitt, Emily Corbitt, Kaitlin Corbitt, Hunter Davis, Andrew Loudin and wife, Abbie, and Spencer Loudin; one great-great grandson who will miss her beyond measure, Jackson Scott; one very special sister-in-law, Patty Collins; one dear friend, Pat Ocheltree; and many special "extra" grandchildren who adoringly referred to her as "Mammaw" just like her other grandchildren.

Helen was a Sunday School Teacher for 52 years at Miles Chapel United Methodist Church, where she shared and instilled her love of God into the hearts and minds of many children over the years. Helen also played the piano every Sunday with her signature sound, the echoes to be remembered by all.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Martin Wine and Pastor Holly Hoover officiating.

Interment will follow at Peterson Cemetery in Weston.
