Donald Lavern Isgrigg, (81), of Rolla, Missouri, moved from this world into the outstretched arms of his Heavenly Father on January 8, 2024.

Don, fondly known as "Izzy" to many, was born to Dorothy Josephine (Taylor) & William Clifford Isgrigg on January 2, 1943 in Rolla, Missouri. He grew up and lived his life in the Rolla area. He married his wife Peggy on October 24, 1975. Together, they found so much happiness. Don was a driver's examiner when he first met her. She apparently passed the test as they made an instant connection, became extremely fond of one another, dated for a bit and were married. They raised a blended family of three daughters in an environment of so much love, excitement and happiness. He was extremely fun loving and a guy that brought so many of us joy and laughter. He lived his life with the heart of a servant, placing others before himself and always being ready to help anyone in need. Above all, he was a kind and caring man who loved his family with all of his heart. Izzy was a good man who touched the lives of so many. He loved sports and was an athlete who played football, basketball and baseball at Rolla High School. He was one of the greatest Bulldogs fans around, showing particular support the last several years, to the RHS Boy's Basketball program which his son-in-law coached. Home or away, good weather or bad, it didn't matter he'd be there pulling for the Bulldogs. He enjoyed being helpful to the referees too, vocally correcting many of their calls. Don picked up golf later in life and excelled in tournaments around the area. Most of the golfing world around Rolla knew him to be a solid player but loved him for the hilarious, self-doubting, fun and crazy guy that had everyone around him laughing. He will be genuinely missed by so many family members, friends and loved ones, but rest assured, we will get to see him again one day when we're re-united with a healthy, happy and perfected Donald Lavern Isgrigg and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Donald is survived by his wife Peggy, they were married for 48 years. Others surviving are three daughters, Cindy (Burwell) Mitchell, Cindy (Isgrigg) Miller, husband Mark Miller, and Kimberly (Isgrigg) Nealey, husband Martin Nealey. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley (Isgrigg) Thorpe, grandchildren Heather Buttenob, Amber Hunter, Caitlin Upton, Samantha Lindsey, Emily Verhaalan, Matthew Mitchell, Mike Miller, Hannah Huszar, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Earnest Thorpe, his parents Dorothy and Clifford, his maternal grandparents, George W. Taylor and Edith (Branson) Taylor, as well as his paternal grandparents Bessie L. (Smith) Isgrigg and George W. Isgrigg and several other family members.

A funeral service for Donald L. Isgrigg will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Grace Church in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Rolla City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to service beginning at 11 a.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Church of Rolla.
