Linda Rae Babineau, 69, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019. She was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and a graduate of Edison High School. Linda was a proud and longtime resident of Schertz, Texas. She worked as a customer relations/311 representative for the City of Schertz displaying her wonderful gift of helping others. Linda loved people and was known for her warm heart, kindness, compassion and her infectious smile. She enjoyed outings with friends and family, NASCAR racing, movies (especially John Wayne) and was an avid fan of the Houston Astros. She loved the outdoors and all animals – her pets from snakes to ferrets and tortoises to dogs, she loved them all. She had many hobbies throughout her life with dancing and cake decorating being the most notable. She also loved music (from the Rolling Stones to Hank Williams) and had a great singing voice. She was preceded in death by, father, George Ray Ackerman and mother, Ida Marie Chenoweth Ackerman; sons, Robert Lance and Cody Reno Babineau. Linda is survived by her sisters, Hazel Marie Byrd (Pat) and Melody Ackerman (Cathy Ruiz); brother, Ray "Scooter" Ackerman (Jeannie); stepdaughters, Annette Ferguson (son Dylan) and Angela Johnson (Clyde); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
