WOODSTOCK - Alfred M. Clem, 85, of Seven Fountains died Tuesday night at the veterans' hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Mr. Clem was a veteran of World War I and owned Clem's Grocery at Seven Fountains for 33 years.
He was born Sept. 4, 1891 at Fort Valley and was a son of the late Jared and Leann Ritenour Clem.
His wife, the former Irene Sanders, died Dec. 16,1974.
Surviving are a son, Jerry Clem of Harrisonburg; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Galloway of Winchester, Mrs. Jeanette Jett of Seven Fountains and Mrs. Alene Ritenour of Front Royal, and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick. Military rites will be conducted by Giles B. Cook American Legion Post 53 of Front Royal.
The body is at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock, where the family will receive friends 7 — 8p.m. Friday.
