She is a native of Anderson County and was born April 18, 1957 to the late Arthur Limus Acker, and Hazel Stella Scott Acker.
She was a graduate of Palmetto High School and a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. She was the wife of Michael Young.
Survivors include two daughters, Avis Young of Piedmont S.C., and Michelle Young of Belton S.C.; one son, Avery Acker of Belton, S.C.; 6 brothers, Mark Acker of Greenville S.C., Edward James Acker of Anderson S.C., Rickey Acker of Greenville S.C., and Juan Acker of Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, Aruther Limus Jr., Frank Acker; a devoted companion, Walter Fishburne of the home; 16 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Sandra Acker, Velva Stegar, and Avis Acker.
Funeral services will be held Monday 2p.m. at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in the Church Cemetery.
