Mary Lou Haines passed from this life on November 12, 2023 at the age of 89 in Owasso, Oklahoma.

Mary Lou was born on June 12, 1934, in Hominy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Oscar Talmadge and Amanda Jewel (Brannon) Gaines. Mary Lou grew up and attended school in Hominy, Oklahoma graduating with the Class of 1952. Following her education, she was united in marriage to Richard Dwayne Haines in Pawhuska, Oklahoma on June 13, 1953. Mary Lou and Richard remained in Hominy for a short time before moving to Perryton, Texas in 1958. In 1969, they returned to Hominy until 1973 when they moved to Byers, Colorado. In 1988, Mary Lou and Richard returned to Hominy where she resided until 2016 when she moved to Owasso. Mary Lou helped manage and operate Richard's Oil construction business for many years and lastly worked at Hominy Home Health.

Mary Lou loved the time spent with her family and always enjoyed preparing the Sunday meals for everyone. She also enjoyed playing cards and pitch with family which were memorable times. Her favorite pastime was going to the casino and Las Vegas. When her children were younger Mary Lou and Richard always took the kids camping and fishing in Colorado. Mary Lou was a longtime member of ESA in Hominy.

Survivors are her children Debbie and Husband Dan Spaulding of Owasso, Oklahoma, Rick and wife Brenda Haines of Greeley Colorado, Angela and Pete Molitoris of Erie, Colorado, Leah Haines and husband Phil Farmer of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Joe Spaulding and his wife Tricia, Lindsay Haines, Sydney Haines; two great-grandchildren Taylor Spaulding and Trey Spaulding and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Richard Haines, siblings Frances Shoup, Jeweldean Stebbing and Joyce Whitewing.

Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be held in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Mary at www.chapman-black.com.
