Sharon Darlene (Burris) White was born August 22,1945, to Mose and Anna (Swan) Burris, and was the youngest of 11 children. Sharon went to school the first 7 years in Gas City, KS. In 1959, the family moved to Old Strawn where Mose ran the saw mill and removed timber to construct the John Redmond Dam. Sharon attended school in Lebo at that time.

In 1960, Sharon met the love of her life, Don Elvin White. They married March 19, 1961, at the Christian Church of Burlington. To this union they were blessed with two sons, Timothy Clarence White and Robert Don White.

They began their marriage in Emporia, KS where Don finished his teaching degree at the Kansas State Teacher's College and Timothy was born. They moved to White city for Don's first teaching position where Robert was born (Council Grove Hospital). Next Don accepted a teaching position in Fredonia and Sharon worked at the bank and they resided there until 1976. They moved to Burlington, KS to reside in Don's family home originally built by his mother Rose White. This is where they currently reside and are retired. Don taught school and Sharon worked at the Burlington schools in the library and then worked for most of her career for the Coffey County Medical Clinics as a receptionist for several physicians.

Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Clarence White, her parents Mose & Anna Burris, and 7 siblings; Richard (Lois) Burris, Fred (Frances) Burris, Betty Michaels, Robert Burris, JoAnn (Leon) Folk, Wes (Carmon) Burris, and Daisy (George) Harris.

Sharon is survived by her husband Don of the home; her children Robert (Juanita) White, and Connie (Patrick) Hawkins; 7 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren, with the 10th expected in March. Grand blessings are as follows: Jerad White & Julie Hawley with children Madison, Stella & Neva; Ryan & Lauren White with children Delta, Delyla & Rowdy; Derek & Asha White with child Carter, Blake & Blair White with children Kaiden & Joshua; Jennifer White; Trevor & Kristina White; and Rachel Hawkins. She is also survived by two brothers; Larry Burris of Rogers, AR; Jerry (Sherry) Burris of Burlington, KS; a sister, Shirley Townsend of Overland Park, KS; and many, many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Christian Church of Burlington. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery west of Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 9:30 A.M. Saturday until service time at the church.
