Sharon A. Young, age 80 of Wapakoneta and formerly of Cridersville, passed at 6:17 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Ohio State University Wexner Hospital.
She was born May 13, 1943 in Lima, Ohio to the late William and Agnes Kiss Gary.
On August 31, 1963 she married Robert L. Young, who passed September 26, 1997.
Sharon was a retired medical secretary and a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church.
She was a puzzle enthusiast and passionate supporter of the Special Olympics.
Sharon found immense joy in playing games, reading, solving puzzles, and playing BINGO.
Her granddaughter's dance competitions were a source of pride and delight for her.
Sharon valued quality time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, creating lasting bonds through laughter and shared moments.
She leaves behind cherished memories of her joyful spirit and dedication to her family and friends.
She is survived by her 3 children – Christine A. (Charles Pindell) Young of Kenton; Gregory B. (Tammy) Young of Delaware, Ohio; Pamela M. (Timothy) Jarrells of Wapakoenta; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters – Carolyn (James) Lantz of Newport News, VA; and Wilma "Billie" (Robert) Connor of Wapakoneta.
Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio or Ohio State Wexner Center.
