Catherine T. Haywood was the daughter of William and Mary Haywood and was born in Charleston, SC circa 1852. On 7 Sept. 1892, she married Benjamin Franklin Addison (c. 1847-1906) in Asheville, North Carolina. They ran various businesses in Asheville, including a restaurant, a grocery store, and a wood lot. Ben Addison was shot and killed by the desperado Will Harris on the night of 13 Nov. 1906, as he stood in the doorway of his grocery store. (Harris went on a violent, drunken rampage and killed a number of people, including two police officers, in Asheville that night.)
Catherine was listed as a grocer at 86 Eagle St. in the 1909 city directory. I cant find her in the 1910 census, but by 1918, she had married Henry L. Parker. They are listed at 40 Davidson Street.
