"Wallace" Alexander was a farmer from Mecklenburg County, N. C. He died at age 39, only 3 months after enlisting in the Confederate Army. His brothers W. N. and J. Smith Alexander also served in the 5th Regiment, N.C. Cavalry, as well as many cousins and neighbors from the Sharon Church community.
