Attended Pine Grove High School. Served in the Mississippi National Guard. Owner of Dumas Furniture. Husband of the late Shelia (Bullock) Lawson. Father of Courtney, Bradley, and Richard Lawson.


Services were Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Fellowship Baptist Church's Family Life Center.

Danny "Coconut" Eugene Lawson passed away January 12, 2024. He was born March 6, 1951, to Gobert "Bill" Lawson and Virdie Lou Pannell Lawson in Tippah County, MS. He graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1970. He was in the Mississippi National Guard for six years and was the Owner and Operator of Dumas Furniture Manufacturer, Inc. from 1981-2020.


Coconut was a humble man, devoted husband, Father, and PawPaw. He was a family man that put God first in everything. He was faithful and dedicated to his church by serving as a deacon. He was a successful business man. In 1990, he received the title of Who's Who in the State of Mississippi. He loved working, helping others, and telling people about Christ. He enjoyed being outside working in the yard and worked diligently in his garden growing the best vegetables.


Coconut is survived by his wife of two years: Annette Jones Lawson; six children: Bradley Lawson, Richard Lawson, Courtney (Kenneth) Brown all of Dumas, Rodney Bryant, Richard Bryant, Amanda (Brian) Vick all of Ripley, MS; fifteen grandchildren: Ridge (Bree) Lawson, Ryder Lawson, Anna Lawson, Allie Lawson, Piper Lawson, Daniel Lawson, Ryan Lawson, Garrett Brown, Kelsey (Matt) Sowell, Ashley (Taylor) Leopard, Baylor Bryant, Sophie Bryant, Vince Bryant, Phoenix Jarvis, and Waylon Vick; eight great-grandchildren; eight siblings: Pauline (the late "WC) Thrasher, Syble (James) Studdard, Shelia (Donnie) Patterson all of Corinth, MS, Sister in Law-Shirley Lawson, Sonny (Evelyn) Lawson of Booneville, Robert (Renea) Lawson, Jimmy Lawson all of Booneville, MS, Jerry (Denae) Lawson of Dumas, MS.


He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years: Shelia Karen Bullock Lawson; his parents; two brothers: Duel Lawson, David Lawson.
