IDEAL, GA – Marjorie English Raburn, 96, of Ideal, Georgia, known by everyone as "Miss Polly" passed away, Monday morning, January 8, 2024 at her residence.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia.

Funeral services celebrating Miss Polly's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Ideal Baptist Church in Ideal, Georgia. Interment will follow in Ideal City Cemetery.

The funeral service will be LIVE STREAMED on Watson-Mathews Funeral Home Facebook page.

Mrs. Polly was born on July 4, 1927 in Ideal, Georgia to the late Thomas Clifford Brooks and Eva Brewer Brooks. She was preceded in death by her first husand, Floyd H. English; second husband, Ernest Clyde Raburn, Jr; son, Eddie English and granddaughter, Amy Parker.

Mrs. Polly was a faithful member of Ideal Baptist Chuch. Mrs. Polly was a Pollworker at Macon County Board of Elections and Registration for the City of Ideal, a volunteer for the Relay for Life and was an excellent seamstress.

Mrs. Polly is survived by her loving children, Margie Boyd and husband Randy of Aiken, South Carolina, Mark English and wife Lauri of Forsyth, Georgia, Joy Rawls and husband Neal of Montezuma, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Carol English of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Frenchie Collier of Albany, Georgia; 8 grandchildren, Alan English, Shannon Simmons, Jason Simmons, Tyler English and wife Sarah, Ryan English and wife Katie, Marlene Kinikini and husband Karson, Tripp Maffett and Brooks Maffett; she is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in her name to her church at Ideal Baptist Church, P.O. Box 150, Ideal, Georgia 31041 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
