Evans Funeral Home Burial Friday January 12 2024****On January 3, 2024, Jacob ("Jake") Nicholas Watford was sent home to our Heavenly Father earning his wings much too early. Jake was the beloved son of Chris Watford and Shari Reynolds along with his stepparents Hanna Watford and Patrick Reynolds, and a much-loved older brother to Zachary Watford and Victoria and Vanessa Reynolds.
----Jake is also survived by his Nana and Papa - Gene and Lucy Watford, his Grandy and Grandpa - Bonnie and Jerry Barber, his Poppy - Myron Metzger along with his wife Hillary, his Babbie - Barbara Rubin, his Grandparents - Joe and Cindy McGee, Douglas Reynolds along with his wife Linda, Elaine Malott along with her husband Mark, as well as, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him so much.
----Born in Brandon, FL on November 6, 2000, Jake moved with his family to Milford, Ohio in September 2003. He attended St. Andrew-St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for preschool, Kindergarten, and grade school. Jake was a graduate of Archbishop McNicholas High School. Jake thrived in his childhood as an exceptional athlete where he earned Second Team All-GCL Central honors as a sophomore running back. Not only did he excel on the football field, but basketball was another sport that just seemed to come so easy to him.
----After graduating high School, Jake was accepted to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, just another one of his passions. He spent 2 years studying in CCM before deciding recently to prepare for a change and move to Florida to study Applied Kinesiology at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida with the hopes of a Final Degree from the University of Florida – his parents' Alma Mater. He loved the Gators!!! Classes were to start Monday, January 8th.
----Jake's infectious smile, bold personality, and kind, generous heart drew people to him and created wonderful friendships. One of Jake's most amazing traits was his attentiveness to those more vulnerable than him. Jake's ability to interact with children and those who are mentally- impaired was amazing to witness as he brought laughter and joy to every situation. Jake poured passion and creativity into everything he did. He had a passion and desire to express his creative side through music and was extremely talented. Jake was an avid songwriter, writing all of his own lyrics. He performed several shows as RCKLSS, in Cincinnati and in New York City, released multiple albums, singles, and 5 Music Videos. His lyrics, while raw, conveyed the deep and complicated feelings within his huge heart. Jake also DJ'd at several local establishments and knew how to entertain everyone. He always said, "I know how to read the room." He had a real love for cooking and great food and hoped to travel more, especially back to Ireland, a trip he once made with his Nana, Papa, and brother.
----Most of all Jake loved his family and friends, especially his brother Zach, more deeply than we will ever understand. Jake always wanted his brother involved in everything that he was doing sometimes calling him at all hours of the night just to talk. He ALWAYS made himself available to his family and friends. He was the life of the party. And we all loved him. Jake was a star whose light was dimmed too early, but with all of our memories, will never go out completely.
----Visitation for Jacob will take place on Tuesday, January 9th 5pm-8pm at Evans Funeral Home in Milford, 741 Center Street, Milford. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew Church, 552 Main St , Milford, on Wednesday January 10th beginning at 10am.
----While floral tributes are appreciated, the family asks that donations in memory of Jake be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati. To make an online contribution, please see the link at the bottom of the page under memorial contributions.
