Born in Norwich, Conn., she came to Arizona in 1926 from New Mexico. She was a school teacher and long-time resident of Miami. Her husband, J.J., served as a Gila County Supervisor, and when he died in 1963, she filled her husband's term from 1963-1965.
She was survived by her daughters, Patricia McGoey of Tucson, Josephine Griswold and Dorothy Allred, both of Phoenix; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

She married John in New Mexico in 1920. She had been the principal of Dawson High School for two years.
