Mrs. Lucy Kate (Alexander) Pless, 89, of Lonesome Dove Road, Elberton, wife of 70 years to Frank 'Grady' Pless, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Pruitt Health at Spring Valley. Mrs. Pless was born in Elberton on April 24, 1934, daughter of the late Henry Frank "Doc" Alexander and Alma Grace (Holmes) Alexander. She was a faithful follower of Jesus who enjoyed visiting nursing homes and singing gospel music. Lucy Kate read her Bible daily and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She was an exceptional homemaker who prided herself in cooking three meals a day, making cornbread and biscuits each morning. Sunday dinners and every holiday were spent with the entire family gathering at her home, something she always looked forward to. Lucy Kate was a talented seamstress who made easter baskets for her family each year. She enjoyed spending time working in her gardens, and loved her family and friends dearly. Surviving, in addition to her husband Grady, are her three children, one brother, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Allen Pless, and siblings: Horace Alexander, George Alexander, Frank Alexander, Raymond Alexander, Willene White, and Alma Jo Carruth.
