Anna Mae Hemmersbach passed away January 6, 2024, in La Crosse, WI, at the age of 89 years. She was born Anna Mae Antony in Rockland, WI, March 2, 1934, to Nicholas and Anna Antony.

She married Leo J. Hemmersbach October 1, 1952, shortly before he left for the Korean War. After he returned, they settled briefly in Rockland before moving to St. Mary's Ridge outside Cashton. Together they raised nine children and managed Leo's Trucking, a milk hauling business, and the Ridge Club, a popular bar across from the church.

Anna had a lifelong passion for reading, which she passed on to many of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed vintage Western movies and classic country music from Marty Robbins to Kris Kristofferson. Anna was a devoted mother and sports fan. She could always be found supporting her children and grandchildren at their sporting events. She was an enthusiastic follower of Tiger Woods, the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and whatever team was playing against the St. Louis Cardinals. Anna enjoyed bowling and visiting casinos, often with one or more of her sisters.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, and sons Tim and Tony, daughter-in-law, Dianne Hemmersbach and granddaughter, Jessica Lichtie.
