Mrs. Dorothy Durham, age 92, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 6,2024 at Friendship House in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Albert and Anna Mae (Pilkerton) Alcorn on January 5, 1932. Mrs. Durham retired from Louisville Bedding Company after 13 years of service. She was an avid thrift shopper and loved finding treasures at the local thrift shops.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Anna Alcorn; husband, Emmitt Durham Sr.; daughter, Bonnie Gatton and grandson, Dustin Hill.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Brenda Jeffries; sons Hugh Hill, Emmitt Durham Jr. (Carie) and Albert Durham; grandchildren, April Hill, Angela Aebersold, Christie Blair, Charles Aebersold Jr., Jeremy Durham, Logan Durham and Molly Durham; Nine great-grandchildren, Three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Alberta Dean and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 12,2024 at 11:30am in the Chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Hwy 44 E at 123 Winning Colors Dr.) with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, January 11,2024 from 4:00pm until 8:00 pm and Friday, January 12,2024 from 10:00 am until the time of service.
