Kent D. Sterling, age 82, of Faribault died peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis following complications of a stroke.
Memorial services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
A memorial visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on January 13, 2024.
Kent Darwin, the son of Kenneth Frank and Rosella (Gobel) Sterling was born on November 3, 1941, in LeRoy. He married Marlene Kay True on September 2, 1961 in Crane Chapel, Austin. She preceded him in death in 2021. He was formerly employed by Despatch Industries, Lakeville for many years. He enjoyed going to the family cabin, fishing, sailing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Brad (and Amy) Sterling, Shelley Velishek and Mark Sterling all of Faribault; grandchildren, Scott Sterling, Matt (and Jourdan) Sterling, Michelle (and Erik) Moline, Molly (and Cameron) Sterling – Brown, Alessandra Lee, Kinsey Sterling, Mason Sterling and Anika Sterling; his great grandchildren, Jude Sterling, Theodor Sterling, William Moline, Noah Moline, Clifford Sterling and Birdie - Jo Sterling; and one sister, Audrey Schneider.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marlene; one son, Greg Sterling; his grandchildren, Steven and Garrett Sterling; his son-in-law, Joseph Velishek; his daughter-in-law, Adrienne Lee; one brother-in-law, Joseph Schneider.
