Jean Ann Enkie Stevens was born January 16, 1945 to William Kindall and Thelma Jean Marcum Enkie of Westwood, Kentucky. Jean passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on April 4, 2023 at the age of 78 after a a long battle with Alzheimer's. Jean was an elementary teacher in the Russell School System. She loved teaching and always referred to her class as "her kids". She enjoyed going to luncheons with her fellow teachers, working on genealogy with her uncle Harry, crocheting, playing with her grand kids, and taking care of her family. She is survived by her husband, Sherrill Stevens, her children, Monica Stevens (Sue Blanchard), Evelyn McCoy (Drew), and Kindall Stevens (Sara). Five grandchildren, Holden and Hadley McCoy. Caroline, Harrison, and Benjamin Stevens, and many other family and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 11th at 11:00 AM at PRESTON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME by Pastor Ken Gowin. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Jean's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th floor, New York, NY 10001.
