Oliver "Ollie" Goosby Sr., 76, of Patterson Township, died Thursday evening, April 26, 1990, in the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center, Brighton Township. Born Sept. 9, 1913, in Thomasville, Ga., a son of the late Fate and Susie Grant Goosby, he was a resident of the Beaver Valley for the past 68 years, and was employed as a police officer for the city of Beaver Falls, retiring in 1976 after 25 years of service. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Beaver Falls, and the F.O.P. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith R. Goosy; two brothers, Samuel and John Gossby, and a sister, Maddie Curry. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Campbell's Beaver Falls, 14th Street and Eighth Avenue. A service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Tabernacle Baptist Church, 630 Third Ave., Beaver Falls, by his pastor, the Rev. Calvin C. Brown. Interment will follow in Beaver Falls Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
