Wendell H. Christensen died March 23, 2010 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, IA.

He was born Oct 1, 1929 in Nashua, the son of Wendell H. and Lauretta H. (Forbes) Christensen. He married Pauline Watters on July 20, 1953 in Cedar Falls, IA. They were parents of three children, Karen Lynn, Wendy Jo, and Wendell H. Christensen III.
Wendell served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and served as Black Hawk County Sheriff from 1974 to 1988.
Before that he was a Cedar Falls Police officer from 1957 to 1961. He joined the Sheriff's office in 1962.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline, two daughters, Karen and Wendy and a son Wendell H. III, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Welden and a sister, Waneta.
