Always the jokester, he would quip that he loved working the "graveyard shift". John was a voracious reader, loved classical music and being with his family. He was a champion swimmer, a runner, fisherman, carpenter, cook and Green Bay Packers fan. He was loved in the community and was the favorite teacher of many.
