Helen Mary Arena, 83, of Pikesville, died Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Charter Senior Living of Woodholme Crossing in Pikesville, with her loving family by her side. Born February 26, 1940 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Henrietta Schleich Bowers. She was the wife of the late Vincent Arena who died August 13, 2008. They had been married for 45 years. Helen was a homemaker. She had worked for Sweet Heart Cup in administration. She also had worked in the press lounge for the Baltimore Orioles for 22 years. She enjoyed her kids, grandchildren and going to their sporting events. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parrish in Pikesville. She is survived by sons James R. Arena and girlfriend Michelle Zeberlein, Joseph V. Arena and his wife Anne, daughter and son-in-law Theresa M. Berry and Steven, brother Charles Bowers, sister-in-law Elizabeth Klein and grandchildren Ashley and Alyssa Arena, Julia Szekely, Jessica Berry and Avery and Domenic Arena. Helen was preceded in death by brothers Albert and John Bowers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 11:30AM at St. Charles Borromeo Parrish, 101 Church Lane, Pikesville, MD 21208. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Glen Burnie, MD. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. IN lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions in her name to Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Ste.
