Charles Carter Obituary
Charles Richard Carter, 86, of Ada, Oklahoma, passed away on December 31, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Charlie was born and raised by his father Elmer Leon Carter in Ada, Oklahoma on September 15, 1937. He grew up in the Ada area, and as a young man he enlisted into the United States Navy where he proudly served his country from April 1955 to August of 1958. After he was discharged, he found that he had a knack for masonry, and worked with his dad and brother until he was able to contract for himself and became a very well renowned mason for over fifty years until his retirement. Charlie married the love of his life Karen in Ada, and together they shared forty-five beautiful, and memory filled years together. If Charlie wasn't spending time with the people he loved most, you could always find him in a local pond fishing. Even when he wasn't able to launch his boat, Charlie would put his tube on, grab his poles, and charge his walker to the water until he was about chest deep, then he would plant his walker into the mud and fish for hours floating in his tube. Charlie was a determined, hardworking man who loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him, while he is "Gone Fishin."

Charlie is preceded in death by his father Elmer Leon Carter, his daughter Debbie Sue Carter, his brothers Ronald 'Corkey" E. Carter, and Jim Carter, his brother-in-law Doni Rice, and his sister-in-law Barbara Rice.

Charlie is survived by his wife Karen Carter of the home, his daughters Leona Imhoff and husband Danny of Deer Park, TX, Darla Page and husband Bobby of Stratford, OK, his brother Johnny Carter and wife Debbie of Ada, OK, his brother and sister-in-law Neal and Maxine Rice, grandchildren Bryan Gould, Tommy Gould and wife Sherry, Autumn Imhoff and husband Joe, Caley Imhoff, Chad Tatum, Nicole Westmoreland and husband Joe, Destiny Tatum, Brittney Tatum and husband Dennis, as well as fourteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are as follows Chad Tatum, JL Carter, Justin Carter, Bobby Page, Tommy Gould and Johnny Carter.

Honorary Pallbearers are as follows Brett Gould, Rudy Rue, and Jimmy Carter.

The funeral service held in honor of Charles will be at 10:00AM on Wednesday January 3, 2023 at the Estes-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Oakman Cemetery just East of Ada.
