1952 - 2023
After a valiant three-year battle with stage four pancreatic cancer, Reed Webb Adams passed away December 26, 2023, peacefully surrounded by his family. He will be missed by all who have been blessed by his fun-loving personality, helpful demeanor, and adventurous spirit.
Reed was born on July 29, 1952, to Franklin Brown "Frank" Adams and Annie "Ila" Webb Adams in Lehi, Utah. He grew up in Holladay Utah, went to Skyline High School, and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Guatemala-El Salvador Mission. He attended the University of Utah. He owned his bicycle shop, Adams Schwinn, for 25 years. Later, while working for Investools, he traveled the world and took every chance to explore interesting sites and hikes. He then thoroughly enjoyed his favorite pastimes in retirement.
Reed loved his country and his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and boldly lived his testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He held many callings and loved them all from scoutmaster to bishop to Primary teacher (his favorite). He loved working with wood, making cotton candy for family and friends, capturing nature's beauty through photography, and always had a song for every occasion. Reed loved hiking up Battle Creek Falls as many times a week as possible and leading tours through Timpanogos Cave as a weekly volunteer. He loved solitude in nature and adventuring with his wife, Joan. They would often be found kayaking, jeeping, fishing, and exploring together with consistent captions on Facebook saying, "Wish You Were Here."
Reed, we wish YOU were here.
Reed is survived by his wife, Joan Tadje Adams; their children: Nicole Bryson (Jonathan), Christine Holmberg (Jared), Cari Winn (Jess), Brian Adams (Kara), Scott Adams (Zoē); 12 grandchildren; and his siblings: Frank Adams (Lee - deceased), Karen Faggioli (Vincent - deceased), Ellen Adams-Roberts, Ralph Adams (KC), and Glenn Adams (Myra).
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Saralin Adams, Alene Cooper, Kent Adams.
