A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the First Lutheran Church in Chariton followed by military honors. There will be a luncheon served at Lakeview Country Club following services. Memorials may be made to the Vision II Theatre.

Armed with his education and unwavering work ethic, he embarked on a successful career path that spanned several notable positions. He served as the Clayton County Auditor and later took on roles as City Manager in Maquoketa and Chariton, Iowa. His commitment to public service extended beyond these roles. He dedicated his time as a Grant Writer for Garden and Associates. Moreover, his dedication to community progress led him to be a member of the Iowa League of Municipalities Executive Board.
