Shirley D Fisher, 88, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 6:53 pm December 21, 2023 at her residence.

She was born August 21, 1935, in Centralia, Illinois to the late Jesse and Lenora (Nelson) Davidson. Shirley married Harley A. Fisher, Jr. on February 14, 1959, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly thirty-two years of marriage before he preceded her in death on January 25, 1991.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Sue Kirgan.

Shirley was an Emergency Service Representative for Illinois Power for several years. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Shirley had a passion for assisting with disaster relief and the American Red Cross. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. She was a loving mother and sister and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 10:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Burial will follow at Old Shiloh Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Shirley's honor to the Central Christian Church or to the American Red Cross.
