Orrin James "Jim" Akey, 84, of Cameron, passed away December 21, 2023. He was born September 16, 1939 to Eugene and Margaret (Swords) Akey in Cameron.

Jim was a graduate of Cameron High School. He married Barbara L. Hollingsworth July 18, 1959 in Hamilton, MO. He was a journeyman for NW Electric and a lineman/serviceman for Ameren Electric companies. Jim was a member of St. Munchin Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus, and a member of Local IBEW # 2.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Rodney James; two sisters, Katherine Frazier and Donna Duckworth.

Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; daughters, Lisa (Steve) Che, Caboolture Queensland, Australia, Tonya (Doug) Sharp, Kearney, MO; son, Todd (Diane) Akey, Lawson, MO; 4 grandchildren, Brooke Moffitt, Brodie Sharp, Tyler and Taylor Akey; 8 great-grandchildren, Ava, Maxwell, Paxton, Everlee, Weston, Lennon, Ridge, Hollis.

Memorial fund designated to St. Rita's Building Fund.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at St. Munchin Catholic Church. Rosary: 6:00 PM, Tuesday evening, December 26th. Visitation following 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM, at Poland-Thompson Chapel, Cameron, MO. Burial in Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, MO.
