Franklin James Acosta, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023, at the age of 85 in San Marcos, California. He was born in Brunswick, Georgia on July 24, 1938.
Franklin is survived by his son, Timothy James Acosta; daughter-in-law, Carmilia Jimenez Ramirez; and granddaughter, Chloe Caroline Jimenez.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Young Acosta, as well as his brothers, Charles Ray Acosta, and Joseph Michael Acosta.
Franklin's educational journey included attending St. Francis Xavier primary school, graduating from Glynn Academy high school in Brunswick in 1956, and later pursuing higher education at Southern Tech in Marietta, Georgia, where he graduated in 1965.
Franklin served in the US Airforce from 1956 to 1960, attaining the rank of Airman 1st class.
Franklin had a successful career as a Field Engineer at Insurance Service Office from 1965 to 2002. He was known for his dedication and expertise in his field.
Outside of work, Franklin had a passion for vegetable gardening sharing his bountiful harvest with friends and strangers. He was an accomplished small engine mechanic. Franklin was a proud volunteer at SOWEGA council on aging Wheelchair Ramp Crew helping many disabled across Albany, Georgia.
