Marjorie "Dawn" Matthews (nee Stauss), at 93 years of age, died peacefully at home on Saturday, 12/16/2023.

Married 71 years, Dawn bore 8 children in 10 years and was proud to be a full-time mother to them throughout her life.

She is survived her loving husband and her children. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude (nee Mallon) Stauss, 6 siblings, as well as her son, Dennis, and grandson, Justin.

She was very kind-hearted and sociable, with an ever-constant busy calendar of places to go and people to see. Despite having a large family, Dawn enjoyed many groups and activities such as the Wauwatosa Curling Club, the Milwaukee Lawn Bowling Club, ladies bridge, the Elm Grove Women's Club, leading the St. Mary's Seniors group, the Vagabonds Club, volunteering as an Usher at the Riverside Theater and volunteering for Visit Milwaukee. She loved dancing, singing, and attending parties. In most everything she did, Dan was by her side.

Despite her decline in health, she remained loving, good natured and friendly to all.

Private services will be held.
