Nolan Lee Cornett, 80, of Union Mills, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at his residence.

Nolan was born in Banner Elk, NC on January 17, 1943, to the late Enoch Cornett and Bertie Sluder Cornett.

He was married to Dorene Harris Cornett.

He was a member of the Marion Moose Lodge and was known for his sense of humor.

Nolan was very skilled at computer building. He enjoyed woodworking and was an outdoorsman and firearms enthusiast. He loved shooting and fishing. Nolan was a well-known breeder of parrots. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Nolan was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Sluder; and a brother, Harlan Cornett.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dorene Cornett; three children, Michael Cornett, Kelly Woods (Kevin), and Kellie Ogle; three grandchildren, Falon Cornett, Kruz Woods, and Ryan Ogle.

In accordance with Nolan's wishes, no services will be held.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his friend and neighbor, Ann Deaton, for the love and care she always provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607
