Herman Jan Aaftink died peacefully, at age 90, on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary.
He was predeceased by his parents and his older sister, Yetty. Herman leaves behind four children, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a loving stepfamily.
Until his last breath, Herman was counselling friends and showing them the way to a happier life. His book, "Brand New Me", was a comfort to many, including the staff at Walden Heights AgeCare, where he was somewhat of a celebrity.
He will be missed.
There will be no funeral or memorial of any kind as per his wishes.
