Survivors include his loving wife, Donna of the home; three sons, Doug Richards (Dianne), Mike Richards (Jeri), and Randy Richards (Kathy); four granddaughters, Kacie Boydston, Danielle Blanck, Megan Johnson, Randi Lowe; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Brown, and Linda Decker (Michael).
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom Richards.
Arnold was a member of the Solomon Lions Club, Solomon Masonic Lodge, Salina Consistory, Isis Shrine, and First United Methodist Church, Abilene. He served as a past member of the Lincoln Township Board, Solomon Housing Authority, Solomon Sr. Center, and Solomon School Board.
He always enjoyed his time flying airplanes. Arnold also greatly enjoyed his time farming for Ron Wood and was a sports enthusiast, spending time at is sons, granddaughters, and great grandkids sporting events, which was a highlight of his life.
Visitation will be Friday, August 16th from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home with family present from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 17th at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, Abilene 601 N Cedar St, Abilene, KS 67410 with Pastors John and Jennifer Collins officiating. Masonic burial will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery, Solomon.
The family suggests memorial be given to Hospice of Dickinson County, First United Methodist Church of Abilene or the Solomon Masonic Temple in care of Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas 67401.
