Marge Van Well passed away peacefully at the age of 80, on December 11, 2023, in Watertown, South Dakota.

Funeral mass will be 10:30 am, Monday, December 18, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Denis Meier and Father Richard Baumberger as celebrants.

Visitation will be 3-5:00pm, with a scripture service at 5:00pm followed by a rosary, Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Nick and Greg Koehn, Taylor Van Well, Brad Schrempp, Elliot Van Well, Joshua Beil and Cody Lindstrom.

Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and Meadow Lake staff and residents.

Marjorie Louise Van Well was born on October 23, 1943, in Clark, South Dakota to Anna and Paul Tauscher. She grew up in Clark, graduating from the 8th grade at the Hillview Country School. She went to the Notre Dame Academy during her freshman year of high school then transferred to Clark High School where she graduated in 1961.

On December 27, 1962, Marge married Gerald "Jerry" Lee Koehn in Clark. To this union three children were born: Daniel, Dean and Dawn. Jerry passed away July 6, 1987, leaving Marge a widow at the age of 42. On December 9, 1989 Marge was united in marriage to Raymond Van Well and acquired four step-children, Kevin, Keith, Robin and Audrey.

Marge had a passion for cooking and worked in the food service industry for many years. Her first job was at Bockoven's in Clark until December of 1962. She was the co-owner of Dagwood's Subs for 13 years. Marge also served as an assistant cook at Immaculate Conception Church for 11 years. Her joy of cooking and warm personality made her a beloved member of the community.

She found solace and strength in her faith and was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church. She worshipped there and participated in various church activities. Her devotion to her faith was a guiding force in her life. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Teens Encounter Christ, Cursillo, Life in the Spirit and REC - Residents Encounter Christ (prison ministry).

In her free time, aside from her love of cooking she enjoyed exercising, and spending time in nature. She was a volunteer at Jenkins Living Center, loved playing cards and musical entertainment. Marge's kind and giving nature touched the lives of many.

Marge leaves behind a loving family, including her children, Dean (Kathy) Koehn of Brandon/Sioux Falls, SD and Dawn (Rory) Beil of Fargo, ND; step-children, Kevin (Colette) Van Well of Watertown, SD, Keith Van Well of Watertown, SD, Robin (David) Schrempp of Box Elder, SD and Audrey (Chad) Lindstrom of Eagle Point, OR; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cindy O'Neil of Watertown, SD; and sisters, Lauena Stanton of Port Townsend, WA and Phyllis Gums of Garland, UT.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Paul Tauscher; her son, Dan Koehn; her first husband, Jerry Koehn; her husband, Raymond Van Well; and her sisters, Lois Miller and Aileen Overlie.

Marge Louise Van Well, will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished. May she rest in eternal peace.
