Patricia J. Furr-McCarter, age 94, of Sterling, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Serenity Hospice and Home, in Oregon.
She was born on September 30, 1929 in Sterling, the daughter of George E. and Josephine E. (Kress) Finch, Sr.
She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1949. Patricia married John Matthew "Matt" Furr on November 24, 1949. She then married Gene McCarter on January 3, 1995. She worked at National Manufacturing for 25 years, retiring in 1992. Patricia was a kind, generous, and loving grandmother. She enjoyed staying busy spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.
Patricia was loved and cared for by two sons; one daughter-in-law; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George E Finch, Jr and Donald Finch.
Cremation rites have been accorded with the McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory, in Rock Falls. Private graveside services will be held.
