Angie was born on December 2nd, 1935 in Mosul, Iraq to Selma and Behnan Obi. She and her mother moved to the US to join her father when she was an infant. She was raised in Jacksonville, FL attending St. Paul's Catholic grade school before graduating high school from Landon. She spent 36 years dutifully employed by American Heritage Life. She met the love of her life, Leon Bloom at the St. Paul's Catholic Club. Married at the age of 25, Angie spent the next 57 blissful years together with her husband, Leon as they raised 4 children, Ben Bloom (Sally) of Raleigh, NC, Meri Bloom of Hopkinton, MA, Selma Andreana Bloom of Jacksonville, FL, and Damian Bloom (Melissa) of Jacksonville, FL. She was blessed with 9 wonderful grandchildren, Jackson, Spencer, Susannah, Annabell, Nina, Ashley, Ava, Wilson, and Hayden.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Behnan and Selma. Angie spent her life as a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, friend, and servant of the Lord. Her faith inspired and carried her through all of life's moments, both good and bad. Praying the Rosary every day was one small way of showing her endless devotion to the blessed Virgin Mary.
A Vigil will be held on Friday, September 21st at 6:30pm at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home at 940 Cesery Blvd. A Funeral Mass will be concelebrated by Father Michael Larkin and Father Callistus Onwere at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 6320 Bennett Rd on Saturday, September 22nd at 11am. Angie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery at 4535 Main St N. In lieu of flowers, please dedicate Mass Services in her honor.
