Obituary:
Peggy Sue Blankenship Swetnam, 68, of LaPlace, LA, formerly of Bremen, GA, died Aug. 30, 2010.

She was born on Aug. 16, 1941 [grave marker states 1942], in McDowell County, WV, the daughter of the late Enos Blankenship and Dorcas Kennedy Blankenship.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Milton "Buddy" Swetnam; a sister, Maxi B. Lockhart; and six brothers, Estel, Elmer, Walter, Theodore, Franklin, and infant Richard Blankenship.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Debi Swetnam of LaPlace, LA; a son, Herbert R. Swetnam; two sisters, Ila Kate McGuiness of Hartford, NC, and Nadiene B. Freeman of Sandy Hook, MS; two brothers, Rev. Jesse Blankenship of Glasgow, VA, and Carroll Wetzel Blankenship of Orlando, FL; an adopted brother and nephew, James Asher Blankenship of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Graveside services will be Friday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m. from Brannon-Perryman Cemetery with Brother Dennis Dean officiating. Burial will follow.
