Obituary:

Hamilton area farmer, Robert W. Rogers, 81, a former Havre resident, died in a Hamilton hospital on April 16. Funeral rites were April 19 in Hamilton and burial, with military rites, took place in the Riverview cemetery in Hamilton.

Rogers was born at Poynette, Wisc., Aug. 3, 1891. He moved to Montana with his parents in 1910, and attended Havre schools. The family moved to the Bitterroot in 1935, where Rogers remained until eight years ago when he and a brother and sister moved to Grantsdale.

Rogers served with the U.S. Armed Forces during World War I. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the World War I Veterans, and the American Legion, serving as an officer in all these organizations.

For years he raised Duroc hogs and every autumn exhibited prize hogs at the Ravalli County Fair.

Survivors include a sister, Nadine Rogers, and two brothers, Kenneth and Eldred (Ike) Rogers.
