Robert Young Dies Saturday Morning
The entire community was shocked and grieved Saturday morning, when word was passed around that Robert Young had died early that morning in Plumas Industrial Hospital, where he had been taken the afternoon before. Robert Kirby Young was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Young and was born in Reno 38 years ago. He came to Quincy with his parents while very young and had lived his entire life here, except while away attending college. While his health had never been very good, he was very energetic and, with his brother, Eldon Young, had taken the management of the Union Oil Company here and had a thriving business.

Several weeks ago, he was taken to Woodland by his devoted mother and had returned home a couple of weeks before his death. He had had a cold, which developed into pneumonia Friday afternoon and he was removed by ambulance to the hospital, where he passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Young, he leaves his brother, E. M. Young, and his sister, Mrs. Margaret Wilde. Funeral services were held at the Moody Chapel Monday afternoon with Rev. Melville Yorke in charge of the religious service. Miss Jean Holcomb sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "In the Garden". The many, many floral offering bore mute testimony of the esteem in which the deceased was held. Pall bearers wre Ray Mulleague, Ray Larison, Allen McClard, Ernie Leonhardt, A. L. Turner, and Bennie Evans.
