Cashes Elmer Poore Jr., 79, passed away Saturday evening, December 9, 2023. He was born on March 23, 1944 to Cashes and Dorine (Beasley) Poore Sr.
He graduated from Rosedale High School in 1962. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was married to his wife Mary for 50 years. He retired from Kansas Gas Service after 35 years of service.
Cashes is preceded in death by his wife Mary; both of his parents; sisters and brothers-in-law JoAnn (Junior) Snook, Velma (Cecil) Burdiss, Cynthia (Harry) Halstead, Linda Sue Poore and Charlene (Harold) White.
He is survived by his daughter Tammy (Steve) Kaighen, Kansas City, Kansas; grandchildren Heather (Kirk) Slater, Paola, Kansas, Nicholas (Aiden) Kaighen, Kansas City, Kansas; great grandchildren Gunner, Aurora and River; sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara (Eddie) Davis, Shell Knob Missouri and Lilly Berry Arnold, Stover Missouri; twenty one nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.
A visitation for Cashes will be held at Maple Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM.
Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery following services.
