Joan Block, 88, of Crivitz, WI, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center -Bay Area of Marinette, WI. She was born on May 10, 1935, to the late Joseph and Blanche (Bocinsky) Schenekl in Oak Park, IL and graduated from Morton East High School in Cicero, IL.
On January 31, 1953, Joan married Donald Block; he preceded her in death on April 20, 2015.
She later married Wenceslaus "Wence" Nowak on August 11, 2020.
Joan had worked as a Secretary and Financial Officer at Becker Sales in Chicago, IL and had sold Avon for many years. The role she enjoyed most was raising her children. She was a very organized woman who enjoyed shopping, flowers, living on the lake, and her pets, especially her cat.
Joan is survived by her husband, Wence Nowak;
son Gary (Wanda) Block;
daughter Debra Williams;
grandchildren: Elizabeth, Katherine, Amanda, and Angela;
six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Donald, she was preceded in death by brother Ronald Schenkel;
and grandson, Brian Albano.
Visitation will be held at Living Waters Lutheran Church in Pound, WI on Friday, December 15th from 10-11am. Funeral Services will be held at 11am with Pastor Bill Retza officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Crivitz.
