CELIA "JEAN" (BAYLIS) BOROFF, age 69, of Belding, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Spectrum Health-Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids. She was born in Ionia, Michigan, on September 27, 1952, daughter of Jack C. and Emily M. (Walker) Baylis, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1971 and continued her education taking college courses. Jean married the love of her life, Keith Allen, Boroff, on March 18, 1972, at Community of Christ in Grand Rapids and he survives. Making a home and raising a family with him has been the focus of her life for the last 49 years. Not only was she a caring and supportive mom to her own children she always welcomed all the neighborhood kids in for snacks and fun. Jean was active in volunteering, becoming the first registered Tiger Cub leader in the area along with her husband, Keith. She was also on the committee to bring the first Apple Fest to Belding, held multiple PTO positions while the kids were in school, and was a faithful member of the Community of Christ in Greenville. She was an avid sports fan, supporting her own children's activities, and as the grandchildren came along, she became a regular attendee at the various bowling, baseball, football, softball, soccer, basketball and dance events that they were involved in.


Jean leaves a loving family to cherish her memory including her dear husband, Keith, of Belding, children, Quenton (Jenni) of Belding, Joshua (Beth) of Belding, Jacob of Ionia and Mindy McWilliams of Rockford; grandkids, Dominic, Zach (Jade), Ashton, Dylan, Kayla, Trenton, and Grace; her first great grandchild is due soon!; siblings, Greg (Elaine) Baylis of Greenville, Jan (Ted) Beckwith of Belding; brothers-in-law Bruce (Kay) Boroff of Ionia, and Andrew Munchy of Holland; a sister-in-law, Ila Orwig of Ionia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends; In addition to her parents, Jean was precede in death by a sister, Carole Olsen, a brother-in-law Marvin Olsen and a sister-in-law, Anne Munchy.


A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. at Community of Christ, 814 E. Coffren Street, Greenville, Michigan 48838, with Minister Harvey Johnecheck and Minister Loretha Smith officiating. The family will greet visitors at the prior to the service beginning at 5:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date at Smyrna Cemetery. Those wishing to express sympathy are asked to make a donation in memory of Jean to the B Foundation or the Community of Christ youth programs. Jean was buried Aug 2023 surrounded by family (including myself). She will share a stone with her husband, Keith.
