Ann-Keith Burckley Osborne, 53, of Danville died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at her residence of an apparent heart attack.
Born May 25, 1955, in Danville, she was the daughter of Ruby Ann Cooper Gaskin of Danville and the late Keith Burckley and the late Jim Gaskin. Ann-Keith was a member of The Presbyterian Church and had been a Sunday school teacher. A 1973 graduate of Danville High School, she earned her BA degree from Eastern Kentucky University and her master's from the University of Kentucky. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi social sorority at EKU and was an ADPi advisor to the chapter at Centre College. She taught English and journalism for man years at Lincoln County Hight School and currently was substitute teaching at Danville High School. She spent her summers working in the gift shop of the Perryville Battlefield State Park and also was a dance instructor at the Cooper School of Dance. Ann-Keith was a Kentucky Colonel and an avid gardener, reader and traveler.
Ann-Keith loved cooking, going to the beach and writing. She received honorable mention in a national poetry publication.
While at DHS she was a captain of the cheerleading squad and was crowned homecoming queen. She also held the title Miss Bicentennial. She received the Distinguished Youth award from the Danville Business & Professional Women's Club. She loved playing the piano and has an honorary doctorate degree in music form St. Andrew's University, England.
Ann-Keith had been active in the Danville-Boyle County Women's Club, Twi-Lite homemakers club and was a former member of the Danville B&PW club. She assisted many years with the Miss Boyle County Fair Pageants, and was active with her children's swimming, soccer and choir.
In addition to her mother she is survived by two children, Caelin (Zach) Scott of Richmond and Matthew (Sara Luna) Osborne of Frankfort; an aunt, Shirley Cooper, and an uncle and aunt, Albert and Pat Cooper, all of Danville.
The funeral service will be noon Saturday at The Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Stewart. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home.
