ALBION-Walter J. Baker, 86, died at 11:25 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2011, at Kingston Nursing Home, Ligonier.

The lifetime resident of Noble County was a retired farmer, plumber and electrical worker. He was a fisherman and hunter.

He was born may 18,1914, in Noble County to Samuel W. and Fary M. (Kreager) Baker. On Aug. 24,1935, at the Methodist Church in Albion, he married Floeila Weber, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters and son-in-law, Lucille and Dave Tulinson of Jackson, Mich., Ann M. and Doug Gaerte of Albion and Linda and Jack Butler of Garrett; 10 grandchildren, Tim Walter and Robert Tumlinson, Lisa Balliet, Mindy Baldwin, Lorie Tipscord, Joe and John Butler and LeAnn and Angie Gaerte; two nieces, Pauline Ross and Claudine King, both of Albion; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A brother, Paul Baker, preceded him in death.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brazzell Funeral Home, Albion. Burial will be a Merriam Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
