Mrs. Baxter was born on June 5, 1957, in Fort Bragg, NC, daughter of the late Frank Bristol and the late Marie Wooten Bristol. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Brandy Nicole Baxter, and by a sister, Carol Bristol. Mrs. Baxter was the true definition of a southern women. She could grow anything but had a special knack for flowers and growing things in her garden. Mrs. Baxter was also an incredible cook, known for her dressing around the holidays, and often hand-stitched her own quilts. She enjoyed fishing and eating crappie. Mrs. Baxter loved her family more than anything and would do anything for her kids and grandkids. Right after the kids and grandkids came her beloved American Bulldog, Scooter. She was a member of Scottsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of over 50 years; 2 sons; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Shane Dover officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Pallbearers are to assemble by 9:30am on Saturday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and include: Chris Baxter, Mark Baxter, Tristan Baxter, Justin Baxter, Bryan Tate and Evan Tate.
